The Project Challenges:
It was a difficult project to organize as they both had to leave at the same time from different areas in Italy and no Ro/Ro vessels were available to depart from Italy to Melbourne. However, due to our very special relationship with MSC lines we managed to confirm a special “Break Bulk” quote for our clients in Australia and an early departure which means that the two boats will arrive in time for the Christmas break and the Australian Holiday season.
Obtaining Permits for Shipping Boats to Australia from Italy & Spain
We had 2 important matter that need attention; the first, to ensure that all relevant Permits (including local transport permits in Italy) to transport the two Power Boats to the wharf in La Spezia and the second, was to pre organize fumigation in La Spezia port in time for the departure of the vessel.
Our special relationship with both these transport sector companies in Italy allowed us to co-ordinate together with the wharf, the exact timing of arrival of the two vessel and minimize our loading, strapping of the power boats and storage times at the wharf in La Spezia, Italy. This meant a reduction in cost to our client.
